When Breitling took on the aviation industry by providing watches that could help pilots navigate the skies; no one ever suspected that Breitling watches would make a journey that billions of people on the earth would never make, the journey to the moon.
This Breitling watch has a screwed down crown, bidirectional rotating bezel, tachometer scale, black dial, silver chronograph sub dial functions, luminous hand indicators and hour markers, scratch resistant crystal, automatic movement, 41 mm case width, date calendar between the four and five o’clock markers, double locking foldover clasp, and 30 meters of water resistance.
Breitling for Bentley is the most popular watch brand made by collaboration between watch makers and the automotive industry. Of course, many have tried to partner, but few have received the prestige of Breitling for Bentley Watches.
Breitling for Bentley watches are not the only part of the partnerships. Bentley cars, such as the Bentley Continental series also carry Breitling clocks on their dashboards. As a result, a cult following of watch enthusiast has been searching high and low to get their hands on the Breitling for Bentley watches. The new partnership is based on the craftsmanship of Bentley automobiles and the watch making talents of Breitling.
A perfect example of this partnership is the Breitling for Bentley Motors Men’s Automatic watch. This particular Breitling watch has a stainless steel case with green dial dad brown leather strap. Additional specifications of this Breitling watch include a screwed down crown, bidirectional rotating bezel, silver chronograph sub dial functions, scratch resistant sapphire crystal, automatic chronometer movement, date calendar at the 3 o’clock marker, 46.5 mm case width, deployment buckle clasp, and a slide rule with computes airborne calculations such as fuel consumption, climbing times, and mileage conversions.
Breitling is a brand name in itself, but why do their watches cost so much? Well, not only are you paying for quality, but you are paying for a number of things. Some include:
Scientific Research and Watch Development
Breitling watches, like the Breitling Emergency, have some high tech features. Some have over 1,000 feet in water resistance, some help pilots navigate the sky, and some help adventurist and athletes get out of some slick spots.
Someone has to test every feature out to make sure they work, and to make sure they are the best watches your money can buy.
Materials
From glareproofed sapphire crystal cases to 50 plus jewels included in the movement, materials cost a lot of money. Especially when some Breitling watches are even made of Titanium; add it all up and you’ll see why your $30,000 watch cost that much.
The Breitling Watch Brand
This is pretty self explanatory, Breitling has made a name for itself since the early 1800’s. A brand name is everything, especially when technology allows hundreds of companies to attempt at replicating them. An original Breitling watch can be passed down from generation to generation.
Brand Ambassadors
This is one of the most obvious reasons why your Breitling watch is high priced. When celebrities like Gordon Ramsey, Bear Grylls, and John Travolta wear Breitling watches, you know it’s not going to be cheap. You are paying for a brand that is worn by the greatest in the world.
So all in all, research, materials, celebrities, and the Breitling name is the reason why your Breitling watch is worth the money.

A Chronolog is the name of Breitling’s annual catalog.
Time Magazine said this, “the firm of Leon Breitling introduces a new stopwatch that is intended for engineers and technicians, and is equipped with a calculator as well as three hands for time and speed measurements.” about the Breitling Navitimer
The divers watch since 1957, the Breitling Superocean has meet industry professional’s high standards and continues to be a favorite in the field. The Breitling Chrono Superocean meets the same expectations today as a Breitling Superocean would have in the 1950’s.
One of the most important parts of a diver’s watch is water resistance technology. The Breitling Chrono Superocean is resistant to water for at least 1,650 feet or 50 bars. The pushpin is the secret (which is an important part of making sure a watch is water resistant) because it ensures resistance and protection against shocks. The Breitling Chrono Superocean’s pushpin can only be activated after unscrewing and removing the restraining ring that holds the push pieces in place. The next most important attribute of a divers watch is the ability to see important features in the dark of the deep. The Breitling Superocean has oversized and luminescent hands and hour markers as well as glareproofed sapphire crystal on the case front and back.
Other attributes are important to a diver’s watch also…the Brielting Chrono Superocean watch includes a great caliber (Breilting 13), a self-winding mechanical movement, 42 hour power reserve, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 25 jewels, 1/4th second chronograph (30 minutes, 12 hours), day and date calendar, steel case, unidirectional and ratcheted bezel, screw locked crown with two gaskets, screwed in case back, and a 42 mm diameter case.
The Breitling Avenger Skyland is a mean and lean Breitling timepiece. It’s rugged and sleek incorporating a screw-locked crown that is protected by crown guards, push piece reinforcements, and thick glareproofed sapphire crystal. Not only is this Breitling watch water resistance to 300 meters, but it is also shockproof! However, watch enthusiast love this watch for its unorthodox look that helps it stand out from other Breitling watches. This bad boy has stenciled dial numerals that date back to the Breitling Avenger’s original model.
However, let us look even closer into the Breitling Avenger Skyland. Underneath the hood you’ll find a Breitling 13 Caliber with a self winding mechanical movement and a 42 hour power reserve. The movement of this Breitling watch also does 28,800 vibrations per hour with 25 jewels and a powerful Breitling chronograph (1/4th second, 30 minutes, 12 hours). With a steel case and dial aperture calendar, the 45.40 mm diameter Breitling Avenger Skyland has a unidirectional yet ratched bezel, a screw locked crown with two gaskets, and a screwed in caseback.
There are numerous versions of the Breitling Avenger Skyland including steel with a black dial and professional bracelet in steel, steel with a black dial with a diver pro strap and tang-type buckle, steel with a blue dial and leather strap with tang-type buckle, steel with a slate gray dial and professional bracelet in steel, steel with a blue dial and professional bracelet in steel, steel with a slate gray dial and a leather strap with a tang-type buckle… well you get the picture, lots and lots of versions and possibilities for ultimate color customization.
To leave you, here is an image of a happy customer unlocking their Breilting Avenger Skylander… at one point in the video, after no talking, he states “its my dream come true man”:
According to Breitling Navitimer “rules” every Breitling Navitimer watch has to have a standard movement, however the Navitimer 806 with Valjoux 72 movement has a non-standard movement. Why has Breitling decided to create this watch? Maybe it’s to make collectors lose their minds with envy with just the mention of it.
This mysterious and elusive Breitling watch was created in the early 1950’s. It was named the Navitimer 806 because it’s identical to an earlier Navitimer 806 with a standard movement. However, collectors and enthusiast were surprised to open it and find a Valjoux 72 movement.
We even do not know that if the watch had the reference 806 ! Some of the pictures I have of this watch do not show the “806″ engraving on the back. The only country where I have regularly seen some Valjoux 72 806 is Japan. Japanese are very well informed collectors and the prices of vintage pieces are very high, that perhaps explain why it is possible to find some there….No idea of the number produced, but this was not limited to few pieces, some thousands might have been produced.”
Definitely an interesting story of the Breitling Navitimer!
Breitling for Bentley watches all have an affluent meaning and historical relation to Bentley motors. The Breitling for Bentley watch series of Mark VI watches tell a story dating all the way to 1946 when the Bentley Mark VI came out of production in Crewe as the first Bentley ever produced in those workshops.
Today, the Breitling for Bentley watch, Bentley Mark VI Complications 19 pays homage to that prodigy Bentley car. The Bentley Mark VI Complications 19 has a chronograph mechanism and a calendar that recognizes day, date, month, and remarkably, moon phases. It’s so proficient that the Bentley Mark VI Complications 19 needs no adjustments except on a leap year.
Little things on the Mark VI Complications 19 hint at the Mark VI release in 1946 including the grooves on the platinum bezel which represent Bentley control buttons, or dial colors based on Bentley cars, or even the shape of the push pieces which was motivated by the Mark VI. The video below shows how the car looks cruising down the road.
Technical specifications for the movement of this Breitling for Bentley watch include a Breitling Calibre 19B, a chronometer certified by the COSC, mechanical self winding movement, 28,800 vibrations per hours, 39 jewels, and 1/4th second chronograph (30 minute and 12 hour totalizers).
The case of the Mark VI Complications 19 includes a choice of steel or platinum bezel. The Breitling for Bentley watch is also engineered with a screw-locked crown and glareproofed convex sapphire crystal to increase water resistance (up to 100 meters). The dials on this Breitling for Bentley watch comes in Peacock Blue, Silver Storm or Burnt Oak and the straps come in barenia leather, crocodile leather, or Breitling Speed bracelet.
It’s that time of the year again, Breitling is shipping their 2009 Chronologs to Breitling enthusiast around the globe.
