Breitiling Watches Superocean 44 Take Two

Breitling watches came out with a new Superocean model last year sporting a modern design in a 42mm size. Some people wanted a smaller case diameter, but more people liked it bigger and so the Superocean II was born. The Superocean 44, as it is known, comes in two versions, the three-hand and the chronograph. There is a GMT version for those who like the 42mm size. The Superocean 44 is easier to read than its predecessor, the dial has the core look of the design but there is more space between the hour markers. Applied baton hour markers are used more than stylized Arabic numerals which can be found at 6 and 9 o’clock. The three-hand model has increased water-resistance from 1,500 to 2,000 meters this year. The GMT and the chronograph are water-resistant to 500...

Breitling Superocean Steelfish

We discussed yesterday, and many times before, that in 1950 Breitling made the bold decision to start focusing on the maritime industry as well as the aviation industry. As a result, The Breitling Superocean watches were born. Out of all the Superocean watches discussed here, the Breitling Superocean Steelfish has my favorite dial design. I love the luminescent dots as hour markers which are complemented by Arabic second numerals, I love the Superocean signature, I love the Arabic numerals for the 12, 6, and 9 o’clock markers, and I love the different versions and variations of materials and colors. However, the most important attribute of a diver’s watch is its water resistance and the Breitling Superocean Steelfish series of watches are watcher resistance...

The Breitling Avenger Skyland

The Breitling Avenger Skyland is a mean and lean Breitling timepiece.  It’s rugged and sleek incorporating a screw-locked crown that is protected by crown guards, push piece reinforcements, and thick glareproofed sapphire crystal. Not only is this Breitling watch water resistance to 300 meters, but it is also shockproof!  However, watch enthusiast love this watch for its unorthodox look that helps it stand out from other Breitling watches.  This bad boy has stenciled dial numerals that date back to the Breitling Avenger’s original model. However, let us look even closer into the Breitling Avenger Skyland.  Underneath the hood you’ll find a Breitling 13 Caliber with a self winding mechanical movement and a 42 hour power reserve.  The movement of this...

One watch that embodies those ideals is the Breitling Co-Pilot watch by providing aviation professionals and Breitling watch enthusiast an electronical watch that seamlessly juggles local time and flight times in one easy motion. The Breitling Co-Pilot is able to do this because it is designed with four separate display modes in order to allow pilots and professionals the option of switching easily between important timing statistics; the four modes on the Breitling...

Breitling World Time Application

As discussed last week, Breitling launched a Breitling World Time Application with their new website design. The Breitling World Time application is a “computing instrument that measures units or currencies that easily solve time-related calculation”. Here is a detailed account of my adventures with the Breitling World Time Application. Last week the Breitling World Time application caught my eye so I downloaded it from the web site to see exactly what it was and how I could use it. After downloading I extracted the Breitling World Time application to my desktop. After extracting I located the setup file and installed the applications to my hard rive. Next I opened up the application and started exploring! Here’s a breakdown of the features (click on image...

Introducing Breitling Watches New Website

I ran into a pleasant surprise today, Breitling has a new website, totally redesigned from yesterday. Here are a few features that I like: 1. The Landing Page Breitling new website’s landing page includes some links that were kind of hidden on the old site. In the top right corner you can quickly change the site language. In the top left corner there are quick links to Models, Retailers, Air Time, Technology, History, and Breitling For Bentley collection. At the bottom right corner the choices include Portfolio, Breitling World Time (more about this tomorrow), News, Contact, and the Breitling Copyright information. 2. Breitling Watch Model Display On the old website the Breitling Models were displayed in the bottom and sometimes froze up and took up screen...

The Breitling Chronomat Watch

The Breitling Chronomat is considered a “leader model” by Breitling. Of course, Breitling enthusiast would argue and say the leader model should be the Navitimer, however by “leader model” I think Breitling means a model that is used to base its designs off of. Maybe every watch in Breitling’s collections started off as a Breitling Chronomat watch? It’s been given the nickname “The Reference” by Breitling and its design hints that historically it has a great significance to the brand. The Breitling Chronomat was originally created for the Frecce Tricolori Flight Team and just like aviation, has evolved and changed over the years. The heart of the watch is the Breitling Caliber 13, an accurate selfwinding chronograph. Other technical specifications...
